Wild for Rehab: How NRG Supports Ontario’s Wildlife and the Heroes Who Care for Them

At Neural Rehabilitation Group (NRG), care and compassion are at the heart of everything we do—not only for the individuals and families we serve, but also for the vulnerable animals that share our communities. That’s why we proudly support Ontario’s wildlife through our initiative: Wild for Rehab.

A Community of Support for Wildlife Rehabbers

Wildlife rehabilitators across Ontario dedicate themselves to helping injured, orphaned, and displaced animals recover and return to their natural habitats. Often operating with limited resources, these rehabbers are the quiet heroes of our ecosystems. At NRG, we recognize their tireless efforts and do our part to support them however we can.

Through Wild for Rehab, NRG collects and donates much-needed supplies like:

  • Blankets and towels
  • Pet food
  • Carriers and crates
  • Cleaning supplies
  • Financial contributions to support veterinary care and facility needs

Our team regularly gathers and delivers these donations to local wildlife rehabbers who rely on community support to continue their life-saving work.

If you’d like to help, donations can be dropped off at our office in Barrie. We welcome anyone who wants to contribute to this meaningful cause.

Volunteering for a Better Future: Annual Turtle Releases

One of the highlights of our year is participating in annual turtle releases. These incredible events are not just heartwarming—they’re essential. Turtles are among the most at-risk species on Ontario’s roads, and every successful release helps boost the population and preserve biodiversity.

Our team is proud to volunteer alongside experts and other wildlife lovers, carefully returning rehabilitated turtles to safe habitats where they can thrive.

Advocacy for Safer Roads—for Everyone

Wildlife and people alike deserve safer roads. Through Wild for Rehab, we also raise awareness about the dangers Ontario’s roads pose to both humans and animals. By sharing resources, promoting safe driving practices, and advocating for better infrastructure (such as wildlife crossings and clearer signage), we hope to contribute to a safer, more conscious province.

Join Us in Making a Difference

Wild for Rehab is more than a program—it’s a passion shared by our entire NRG family. Whether it’s collecting supplies, spreading the word, or volunteering our time, we believe that supporting wildlife rehabilitators is an important way to care for our planet and all who live on it.

If you’re interested in donating supplies, joining a release, or learning more about how you can help, we’d love to hear from you. Together, we can create a more compassionate world for people and wildlife alike.
